In this full day workshop the 6+1 Traits Writing Model and teaching ideas will be presented using familiar literature titles that your youngest students love.  You will practice using the traits through oral language, reading, listening and writing activities that will leave you comfortable using the writing traits, and increase the ability of your students to communicate.  The vocabulary of the traits will be an added focus.  These are the common words that are used to talk to your students about writing each day and will provide them with a solid foundation for writing throughout their school lives.  You will learn a wealth of activities using award-winning literature titles found in your library or personal bookshelf collection that are flexible, creative, and take no more than three to five minutes to prepare.  Learn about the traits today...use them tomorrow!
